Amy Schilling is a long time Telluride local, who received her formal training at Parsons School of Design in New York. Schilling’s background is in jewelry design, though petroglyphs and encaustic painting have captured her passion and have shaped her philosophy. Her process of encaustic painting parallel her artistic physical and emotional movement.

Each of Schillings paintings is paired with a poem, which brings deeper meaning to her work. Her paintings are characterized by petroglyphs from ancient cultures which she has drawn on-site from various locations across the globe.

Amy searches for the extraordinary in the ordinary and is devoted to art that transcends boundaries, whether that be in time, geography, or culture.
