Aaron has always had a desire to communicate which words cannot contain, and his path in life is a testimony to that. Born in 1975 in Indiana, Whitehouse spent his youth expressing himself through poetry and written word until enrolling in Georgia State’s film school. After graduating with a degree in film and video, Whitehouse experienced an ‘awakening’ and spent time studying meditation and contemplation as well as sacred texts, and states that this period of time is the foundation of all of his work in one way or another.
Whitehouse’s discovery of mixed media and the absence of structure provided freedom of process that in turn created the perfect storm for Aaron’s creative urges and constant need to evolve artistically. Aaron began exploring the use of resin in many of his works to create depth as well as unify otherwise disparate mediums.
