Artist Biography
John Self was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, in 1948. John uses found objects, garage sale finds and thrift store bargains to create unique, one of a kind sculptures with a wide variety of subjects, which he calls "garage sale artifacts". He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls in 1977. He has lived in Kerrville, Texas since 1991.
